The 66th issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin prepared by the Economic Research Unit of the Department of Economics focusing on inflation data, reserve developments, global manufacturing indicators, and energy market trends has been released.

The 66th issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin, prepared by the Economic Research Unit of the Department of Economics at Ibn Haldun University, has been released. This issue focuses on inflation data, reserve developments, global manufacturing indicators, and energy market trends.

According to the highlights of the bulletin, in Türkiye, consumer prices (CPI) increased by 30.87% year-on-year and 1.94% month-on-month, while producer prices (PPI) rose by 28.08% annually and 2.30% monthly.

According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), net reserves excluding swaps declined from $43 billion to $20.2 billion in the week of March 27.

In the United States, the ISM Manufacturing Index rose to 52.7 in March, exceeding expectations. The index stood at 52.4 in February, with expansion observed in 13 sub-sectors and contraction in 3 sectors.

In the Euro Area, the Manufacturing PMI increased from 50.8 to 51.6 in March, reaching its highest level in the past 45 months and surpassing market expectations.

Euro Area consumer prices rose by 2.5% year-on-year in March, up from 1.9% in February.

In China, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 50.4 in March, exceeding economists’ expectations.

Oil prices increased following statements by U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting a possible escalation of conflict in Iran. Analysts noted that this could prolong disruptions in energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz. On the last trading day of the week, Brent crude oil traded at around $109.03, while West Texas Intermediate crude oil (WTI) stood at approximately $111.54.

On Friday, spot gold traded at around $4,676 per ounce, while gram gold was priced at approximately ₺6,706.
