The 82nd issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin, prepared by the Economic Research Unit of the Department of Economics at Ibn Haldun University, has been released. In this issue, global and domestic economic developments are analyzed, and up-to-date data on the Turkish, U.S., European, and Asian economies are evaluated.
According to some of the highlights from our bulletin, industrial production in Türkiye decreased by 1.4% year-on-year in June, while increasing by 0.1% on a monthly basis.
In Türkiye, first-hand home sales decreased by 8.6% year-on-year to 42,529 in July. Second-hand home sales also decreased by 20.8% year-on-year to 81,074 during the same period.
The top three taxpayers in terms of income tax payments in Türkiye in 2025 were Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Baykar; Haluk Bayraktar, General Manager of Baykar; and Rahmi Koç, Honorary Chairman of Koç Holding, respectively.
The U.S. federal government's budget deficit increased by 48% year-on-year to $432 billion in July.
U.S. household debt decreased by $13 billion to $18.8 trillion in the second quarter compared with the previous quarter, while increasing by $383 billion year-on-year.
Industrial production in the Eurozone remained unchanged in June compared with the previous month, while increasing by 0.1% year-on-year. In the European Union, industrial production increased by 0.2% month-on-month and 0.6% year-on-year during the same period.
Chinese humanoid robot manufacturers accounted for more than 97% of global shipments in the first half of 2026.
On the last trading day of the week, spot gold traded at around $4,319 per ounce, while gram gold stood at approximately ₺6,657.
