The 54th Issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin Has Been Published
The 54th issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin, prepared by the Economic Research Unit of the Department of Economics at Ibn Haldun University, has been released. This issue focuses on income distribution, wage policies, and key global economic developments.

According to highlights from the bulletin, results from Türkiye’s Income and Living Conditions Survey 2025 (reference year 2024) show that the top 20% income group’s share of total income declined by 0.1 percentage points to 48.0%, while the bottom 20% income group’s share increased by 0.1 percentage points to 6.4%. The Gini coefficient decreased by 0.003 points year-on-year to 0.410.

In Türkiye, the minimum wage for 2026 was set at ₺28,075 net, representing a 27% increase. The gross minimum wage amounted to ₺33,030, while the total cost to employers reached ₺39,553.

In the United States, former President Donald Trump stated that the next Fed chair should cut interest rates when markets perform well, adding that “Anyone who disagrees with me cannot be Fed chair.”

The Italian Competition Authority imposed a €98.6 million fine on Apple for abusing its dominant position in the mobile application market.

Russia’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments to China more than doubled year-on-year in November, reaching 1.6 million tons. With this surge, Russia became China’s second-largest LNG supplier after Qatar, overtaking Australia.

On the last trading day of the week, spot gold traded slightly above $4,500 per ounce, while gram gold stood at approximately ₺6,229.
