The 45th Issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin Has Been Published
The 45th issue of the Weekly Economic Bulletin, prepared by the Economic Research Unit of the Department of Economics at Ibn Haldun University, has been released. In this issue, global and domestic economic developments are analyzed, and up-to-date data on the Turkish, U.S., European, and Asian economies are evaluated.

According to some of the highlights from our bulletin, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s gross reserves rose to $198.4 billion in the week ending October 17, up from $189.7 billion the previous week. Net reserves excluding swaps increased from $61.8 billion to $63.3 billion, while total net reserves climbed from $79.3 billion to $79.6 billion.

Spot gold held around $4,070 per ounce on the last trading day of the week, heading for its largest weekly loss since May with a decline of about 3%. Meanwhile, gram gold traded around ₺5,510.

Italian Leonardo SpA, French Thales SA, and Airbus SE have signed a preliminary agreement to combine their satellite operations and establish a joint venture that could compete with SpaceX. According to a joint statement, the new venture will be called “Project Bromo.” Airbus will hold 35% of the shares, while the other two companies will each hold 32.5%.

Meanwhile, China’s leadership, following the 4th plenary session, released a statement emphasizing plans to build a modern industrial system under the 2026–2030 development plan, highlighting advanced technologies such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence and reaffirming its goal of self-sufficiency.
