Mohammed Muntaka Abdul Rahman, a PhD candidate in Economics and an Academic support staff at the Department of Economics, Ibn Haldun University, has been selected as a working group member in two Cost Action programs - CA22124 – EU Circular Economy Network for All: Consumer Protection through Reducing, Reusing, Repairing (ECO4ALL) project, and CA22122 / Rethinking the Blue Economy: Socio-Ecological Impacts and Opportunities (RethinkBlue) carried out within the framework of the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) program, which fosters scientific collaboration across Europe.
Muntaka has been appointed as a member of WG-2: Quantitative Analysis on Consumer Protection through the Circular Economy (for CA22124) and WG-5: Climate Change and Natural Hazards (CA22122). Within CA22124, Muntaka conducted a consumer protection survey to contribute to advancing data-driven research on sustainable consumption and consumer protection. Similarly, in CA22122, Muntaka is currently undergoing scientific mentor-mentee training with Assoc Prof. Emmanuelle Quillerou of the University of Brest to enable him to expand his research skills and expand his post-doctorate research ideas in the blue economy. His involvement in these Cost Action working groups will help him develop his academic and research skills and contribute meaningfully to scientific knowledge creation in Europe.
The selection of Mohammed Muntaka Abdul Rahman to the relevant initiatives is considered as an indicator of Ibn Haldun University's commitment to increasing its capacity in international academic networks, as well as its commitment to sustainability and circular economy policies.
